Pathways for Purpose is a faith-centered nonprofit based in Green Bay, Wisconsin, dedicated to helping individuals experiencing homelessness find a pathway toward lasting stability.
We believe homelessness is more than a housing problem. It can affect a person's faith, confidence, employment, relationships, finances, and sense of purpose. That's why our approach brings these areas together rather than treating them as separate challenges.
Through compassionate relationships, practical support, workforce development, life-skills education, spiritual growth, and housing assistance, Pathways for Purpose walks alongside individuals as they take meaningful steps toward a more stable and independent future.
Our goal isn't simply to help someone get through today. Our goal is to help people build a better tomorrow.
Pathways for Purpose is built around four connected areas of support:
Faith & Spiritual Growth
We provide opportunities for individuals to renew and develop their relationship with Jesus Christ through Bible study, prayer, spiritual mentorship, fellowship, and Christ-centered encouragement.
Workforce Readiness & Employment
We help participants prepare for meaningful employment through resume development, interview preparation, job-search coaching, employer connections, and training in professionalism, communication, reliability, and workplace expectations.
Life Skills & Personal Development
Building independence takes more than a job. Participants receive guidance in areas such as personal goal setting, accountability, financial literacy, self-sufficiency, grooming, hygiene, and everyday living skills.
Housing Stability
We help participants navigate the transition toward safe, stable, and affordable housing by connecting them with housing resources, shelters, transitional programs, and landlords while providing guidance on applications, tenant responsibilities, and long-term housing planning.
Pathways for Purpose was founded by Charles Svihlik and David Vander Bloomen, who share a commitment to helping individuals discover renewed hope, practical opportunity, and a path toward a more stable future.
Together, they bring complementary experience in community engagement, outreach, workforce readiness, business, and relationship-building to the mission of Pathways for Purpose.
Their vision is simple:
Meet people where they are. Walk with them. Help them discover their purpose.
